A Larger Vision

My perform in missions began definitely soon after the Berlin Wall came down and I had the chance to go and train pastors in former Iron Curtain nations. What struck me when I was there was that I had viewed this wonderful opening for the gospel as becoming like my chance to go and teach them. I had the freedom to go into these former Communist nations and have a ministry.

What I saw there was that it wasn’t about my freedom to go it was about their freedom to attain their personal persons. So I came alongside of them and located methods in which I could assistance them, I came back, I talked to my pastor and elders and they mentioned, Appear, what you are speaking about in assisting the church in these former Iron Curtain nations is far larger than any 1 church. So why do not you start out an organization that quite a few churches could participate in? And so I did.

This book, written by a missions journalist as he traveled all through 20 distinctive nations, highlights the lives of Christians previous and present whose examples of endurance, courage, sacrifice, and humility will connect readers with God’s unstoppable perform across the planet.

These have been fantastic years for me of studying and listening. I shared what I was experiencing as I saw the energy of the gospel. I saw how wonderful our God is and how Christ is constructing his church all more than the planet. So it was a time of listening and studying and forming partnerships.

Mobilizing and Sharing

More than the years considering that then, I’ve been involved in mobilizing and positioning males and ladies in some of the tougher locations: the restricted-access nations of the planet, the 1040 window area as it is at times named in mission jargon, these gospel-destitute components of the planet.

It energizes God’s persons to see that God is at perform, that Christ is alive.

So, I’ve been mobilizing and also sharing what I’ve discovered. In quite a few methods I appear at myself not so significantly as an administrator, preacher, or teacher, but as a writer. I adore to share what I’m seeing of gospel advance all more than the planet. I adore to see how it energizes God’s persons to see that God is at perform, that Christ is alive, and all the implications that has in the worldwide church.
