Centred on the Saviour, Empowered by the Spirit, Grounded within the
Scriptures – These are the teachings that we should carry on studying if we
are to convey glory to God and obtain blessing from Him.

* Centred on the Saviour

Being
a Christian isn’t one thing that we do for ourselves. It’s not
one thing that we obtain in our personal power. Once we study
Jesus, we’re drawn to Him. It’s the love of God that pulls us to Jesus.
God exhibits us how a lot He loves us. He exhibits us how a lot He desires to
change us. He leads us to Jesus – “the Means, the Fact and the Life”
(John 14:6).

Jesus is “the Means with out which there isn’t a going.” With out Jesus, we’re misplaced. Jesus finds us.

Jesus
is “the Fact with out which there isn’t a understanding.” With out Jesus, we
can’t make sense of our life. He exhibits us what our life is all about.

Jesus is “the Life with out which there isn’t a dwelling.” With out Jesus, life appears empty. He provides us true and lasting pleasure.

How can Jesus convey these blessings to us? – He’s our Saviour.

* Empowered by the Spirit

In
ourselves, we’re weak. From the Spirit, we obtain new power –
God’s power, the power that we have to reside for the Lord, the
power that we have to be His “witnesses” (Acts 1:8). That is the
lesson that we’re studying from Acts. Bear in mind what Peter was like at
the time of the crucifixion. He denied the Lord 3 times (Matthew
26:69-75). Have a look at what he was like on the Day of Pentecost. Peter
preached – and “three thousand” folks acquired new life in Christ.
Peter had modified – and plenty of different folks had been modified with him. What
was it that modified Peter? – It was the Spirit: “they had been all crammed
with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:4). Within the Outdated Testomony, God had given
His promise: “I’ll pour out My Spirit” (Joel 2:28). On the Day of
Pentecost, He fulfilled His promise (Acts 2:14-17).

Can we be
modified? Sure. The Holy Spirit can do nice issues in us and thru us –
after we pray, “Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Please accomplish in us
right now some new work of loving grace, we pray –unreservedly – have Your
approach. Holy Spirit, we welcome You” (Mission Reward, 241).

* Grounded within the Scriptures

How
will we come to religion in Christ? How will we develop in Christ? How will we
obtain the Holy Spirit? How does the Holy Spirit work by way of us to
convey different folks to Christ? Do these blessings come to us from out of
the blue? No. They arrive to us from the Phrase of God. We hear God’s Phrase.
We learn God’s Phrase. We study Jesus. The Spirit factors us to Jesus.
He leads us to Jesus. He creates religion in Jesus.

Don’t simply pay attention
to God’s Phrase while you’re at church. Learn God’s Phrase day-by-day – and
pray that the Spirit will work in you, “revealing Jesus by way of the
Phrase, creating religion in Him” (Mission Reward, 279).

Could God assist every of us to be modified by the love of the Saviour, the ability of the Spirit and the educating of the Scriptures.
