CHICAGO (CBS) — She’s currently a social media sensation soon after tossing a dazzling curve ball for the ceremonial 1st pitch of a White Sox game final year, and now Sister Mary Jo Sobieck will be receiving her personal Topps baseball card.
Identified as “Sister Strike,” she went viral final year when she bounced the ball off her bicep just before throwing a fantastic strike for the ceremonial 1st pitch at Marian Catholic Higher College Evening at the White Sox game against the Royals final August.
Simply because of that heavenly pitch, Topps decided to honor the Marian Catholic Higher College teacher with a unique baseball card, which will be released in July.
The image on the card is Sobieck pointing at property plate soon after her pitch. Whilst her pitch could have shocked the White Sox crowd final summer season, her talent is nothing at all new. She played softball, basketball, and volleyball in elementary college, higher college, and college in Minnesota.
Sobieck was awarded $1,000 for appearing on the card. She plans to donate the dollars to a scholarship fund at her college.
