25 Ohio State University students, alumni, neighborhood members launch sit-in inside  of President Drake’s workplace demanding OSU finish its organization partnership with Wendy’s more than quick meals giant’s refusal to join Fair Meals Plan


Peaceful student-led sit-in starts the day just before much more than 800 farmworkers, students, and allies from across the nation march on President Drake’s workplace on International Women’s Day calling for OSU to reduce its contract with Wendy’s till it joins the Fair Meals Plan


COLUMBUS, OH – On March 7 at three:15 PM, 25 members of the Ohio State University neighborhood which includes undergraduate and graduate students, employees , and alumni entered Bricker Hall and started a sit-in outdoors of President Drake’s workplace to demand OSU finish its organization partnership with the quick meals giant Wendy’s. The sit-in is the newest escalation of the years-extended, student-led “Boot the Braids” campaign to take away Wendy’s from campus for the duration of which students have fasted, and marched, in protest of the truth that Wendy’s refuses to safeguard farmworker human rights by joining the CIW’s Presidential Medal-winning Fair Meals Plan.

We will not cease fighting till OSU cuts its contract with Wendy’s.”
