“Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”” (Matthew 24:1-2 WEB)
Jesus’ words were fulfilled in AD 70 when the Roman armies destroyed the temple.
“As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”” (Matthew 24:3 WEB)
The disciples asked Jesus three different questions:
- When will these things be?
- What is the sign of Your coming?
- What is the sign of the end of the age?
“Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:4-8 WEB)
The above are the signs of the end times, before the Great Tribulation — The marking point that shows this is “these things are the beginning of birth pains”.
Everything stated in the passage above have been happening already.
There have been more earthquakes in recent decades than in all previous decades put together. We are already in the end times.
This tells us that the Rapture is very near, right around the corner.
““Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:9-14 NKJV)
The above is talking about the Great Tribulation.
The Tribulation will be a time of great global hatred towards the Jews.
The Antichrist will likely blame all the bad things happening around the world on the Jews.
“But he who endures to the end will be saved”: During the Great Tribulation, only those who believe in Jesus and don’t accept the Mark of the Beast will be saved at the end of the Great Tribulation when Jesus returns at His Second Coming (Revelation 14:11).
The Gospel will only finally be preached in all the world during the Great Tribulation.
““When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house. Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:15-22 WEB)
The abomination of desolation will be something blasphemous set up at the site of God’s temple in Jerusalem during the Great Tribulation — most probably the image of the Antichrist/Beast (Revelation 13:15).
At that time, the Jews in Judea are to flee to the mountains to escape the Antichrist’s persecution.
The Great Tribulation is shortened thanks to God’s mercy upon those who will believe in Jesus during the Tribulation. They won’t have the Holy Spirit indwelling them at that time — the Holy Spirit will not be on earth (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7).
No one (without the empowerment of the
Holy Spirit) could ever endure that much suffering and not accept the Mark of the Beast — man is not limitlessly faithful, but God is very merciful towards His people.
““Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. “Behold, I have told you beforehand. If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:23-27 WEB)
During the Great Tribulation, the main false Christ will be the Antichrist and the main false prophet will be the False Prophet (Revelation 13).
The signs and wonders that they will do are false ones, done by deception (possibly using advanced human technology to produce convincing illusions and man-made natural phenomenon).
The Second Coming of Christ will not be an obscure, secretive event like the Rapture.
Everyone on earth at that time will know it because of the glorious way it will happen.
“For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together.” (Matthew 24:28 WEB)
The battlefield near Jerusalem where Jesus will slay the Antichrist and his wicked armies is where the vultures will gather to.
The birds will feast on their corpses (Revelation 19:11-21).
Matthew 24 and 25 contain Jesus’ words and parables about the major end times events. Let’s interpret and understand these mysteries.
““Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31 NKJV)
The passage above describes the “Day of the Lord” (the Second Coming of Jesus Christ).
The “sign of the Son of the Man” could be the shape of the cross appearing in the sky.
Everyone will immediately be convicted in their hearts that the Gospel is the truth all along.
Jesus will send His angels to gather the elect (the future mortal believers during the Great Tribulations, not us) to bring them to Jerusalem to rule with Him in the Millennium.
Jesus won’t expect them to slowly board planes in batches to get to Jerusalem — the angels will carry them there.
““Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (Matthew 24:32-36 WEB)
Jesus’ words in the passage above is directed at the Tribulation believers.
All these signs will be fulfilled in their generation because the Tribulation only lasts for 7 years.
This Heaven and earth will pass away because God will make new heavens and a new earth. Jesus’ words are true and entirely reliable.
Only our Heavenly Father knows the exact day and hour of the Second Coming of Christ.
If anyone else claims that they know it, they are lying.
““As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left; two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left. Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.” (Matthew 24:37-44 WEB)
The passage above is still talking about the Second Coming of Christ, not about the Rapture.
The flood during the days of Noah is a picture of God’s judgment and not of God’s deliverance.
The sinners (unbelievers) in Jerusalem will be taken by the angels to the battlefield to be slaughtered with the sword that proceeds from Jesus’ mouth — He is returning as an Avenger to slay the wicked — a majestic Lion, not just a meek lamb.
The Second Coming will happen suddenly and unexpectedly.
““Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has. But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards, the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it, and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.” (Matthew 24:45-51 WEB)
How come the passage above seems to suggest that a believer can lose his salvation?
This is because it’s talking about the context of the Great Tribulation.
At that time salvation is not “once saved always saved” because the Holy Spirit will not be indwelling believers on earth as a guarantee/deposit of a believer’s salvation.
When the Rapture happens before the Great Tribulation, the Holy Spirit will be taken up to heaven together with the church.
The Holy Spirit is the One on earth Who is restraining the Great Tribulation from happening right now.
God will set leaders over His Tribulation believers to feed them spiritual food by preaching the Gospel to them.
However if they lose faith, accept the Mark of the Beast and become abusers of the believers instead, then they will not be saved — they will be cast into the lake of fire.

Understand the 3 End Time Parables in Matthew 25
““Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (Matthew 25:1-13 WEB)
Notice that Jesus’ parable of the Ten virgins above begins with “Then”. It is a continuation of the previous chapter.
We have seen that in the previous chapter it is all about the Great Tribulation and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and there is no mention of the Rapture.
Likewise, this parable is also about the Tribulation and Second Coming.
The ten virgins represent all the people in Jerusalem at the time when the Second Coming will happen, at the end of the Tribulation.
These virgins are not the bride — they are the bridesmaids.
The bride is the church which is already in heaven, having been taken up in the Rapture before the Tribulation began.
The bridegroom is the Lord Jesus Christ.
In a Jewish traditional wedding, after the wedding ceremony, the bridegroom and bride take a private honeymoon for 7 days in the bridegroom’s father’s house, before having a marriage feast with their friends after that.
Likewise, while the Tribulation is going on for 7 years, the church (bride of Christ) is safe in heaven (The Heavenly Father’s house) in Jesus’ loving arms, and watching the events unfold on earth.
After the 7 years are up, Jesus the bridegroom will come to earth to receive the bridesmaids (virgins) for the marriage feast which will happen on earth in Jesus’ Millennial kingdom.
The 5 foolish virgins who took no oil with them represent people in Jerusalem who aren’t vigilant in their faith in Jesus at that time.
Perhaps they had faith earlier in the Tribulation (when persecution became severe from the Antichrist who is bent on eradicating all the Jews), but they didn’t continue in that faith, that’s why the oil was running out.
They were distracted and perhaps even stopped believing.
The 5 wise virgins are those believers in Jerusalem who were watchful for Jesus’ Second Coming.
They kept the faith and made sure to be ready when He returns.
Since half the virgins were watchful believers it could mean that half of Jerusalem would be saved at that time.
The cry happened at midnight. We know that no one knows the day or hour of the Second Coming, so it’s probably not going to happen at midnight, but it will happen when the sky is dark — possibly caused by the supernatural darkening of the sky (the Day of the Lord is a day of darkness [Zephaniah 1:15, Joel 2:11] ).
All ten virgins arose because the Second Coming would happen loudly with great majesty and splendor — no one will miss it.
The 5 foolish virgins had the time to talk to the 5 wise virgins when the bridegroom’s arrival was announced.
This proves that it’s not the Rapture because the Rapture will happen at a fraction of a second — in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52).
The Rapture will be so sudden and immediate that there will not be time to even say a word.
Please refer to Zechariah 14 for the following:
When Jesus returns at the Second Coming, His feet will touch the Mount of Olives and it will split into half to form a great valley for the people in Jerusalem to escape to safety from the Antichrist and his evil armies, causing an earthquake.
The valley will lead to a place called Azel (which means “nearness”).
There will be a short window of opportunity for the people of Jerusalem to run to Jesus for safety.
Those (wise virgins) who recognize and trust Jesus will run towards Him, through the valley, to safety in Azel — nearness to God and their actions reflect the nearness of their hearts to God.
Those (foolish virgins) who are fearful of Him will run in the opposite direction.
This is what is described as the wise virgins going in with the bridegroom to the marriage feast.
When the window of opportunity is over, Jesus will begin to slay the Antichrist and his evil armies with the sword that proceeds from His mouth (Revelation 19:21).
The people in Jerusalem who did not run to Jesus for refuge will be counted as unbelievers and as mentioned in Matthew 24, they will be carried by the holy angels to the battlefield to be slain, and the birds will feast on their corpses.
““For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey. Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two. But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them. He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’ “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter. You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away. Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’” (Matthew 25:14-30 WEB)
In Jesus’ parable of the talents above, these are who each character represents:
The master going into another country is Jesus who ascended back to heaven.
The first two servants are believers whereas the third servant is an unbeliever.
Each servant received a different amount of talents — all of us have received different measures of gifting, by God’s choice (Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12:11).
The master coming back to settle accounts represents the Great White Throne Judgment that will happen at the end of time, when Jesus will give rewards to believers and deal out sentences of punishment to unbelievers.
Jesus won’t expect you to do more than the Grace you have first received from Him — He gave the exact same praise to the first two servants, even though the first servant gained 5 talents and the second servant only gained 2 talents.
We know that the third servant is an unbeliever because he has a bad opinion of the master.
The third servant didn’t use the gifting he had received because he never became a believer.
There is no valid excuse for not believing in Jesus — everyone has a lifetime of opportunity to believe. All unbelievers will be cast into the lake of fire.
Everyone who has Jesus as Lord will be given rewards and they will have abundance from using the Grace that they first received from Jesus.
Everyone who doesn’t have Jesus as Lord will lose everything that they had in life and will only experience eternal torment in the lake of fire.
““But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’ “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’ “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”” (Matthew 25:31-46 WEB)
Jesus’ parable of the sheep and the goats above is also about the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).
Notice that Matthew 24 – 25 follow a chronological sequence of end-time events: Great Tribulation, Second Coming of Christ, Marriage Feast of the Lamb (in the Millennial kingdom) and the Great White Throne Judgment.
In the parable, these are who the characters represent:
The sheep are believers.
The goats are unbelievers.
The King who is like a shepherd represents the Lord Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd, who will sit as the Righteous Judge on the throne.
The King’s Father is God the Father.
The sheep go to the right hand — the right hand of God represents the place of God’s favor.
The believers will receive rewards for their good works — Jesus will find every reason to generously heap rewards upon them.
The little good works they do will be praised and rewarded — even for those so insignificant that they forgot they even did them.
Thankfully God is a perfect accountant — His Books of Remembrance (Malachi 3:16) meticulously records all our deeds.
The unbelievers will receive a level of punishment according to their sins — all their sins will be stacked against them.
As mentioned in the parable, the eternal lake of fire was prepared as a place of punishment for the devil and his fallen angels — it wasn’t built to punish man.
However, the human spirit is eternal, so it needs to be housed somewhere.
By rejecting Jesus and God for an entire lifetime, the unbelievers have chosen to spurn the free gift of salvation and send themselves to the lake of fire.

“Hi Mr. Milton Goh, first of all I would like to say “Praise God and thank you so much Mr. Milton. You are such an answered prayer for me. I was really blessed by your blog. It opened my mind to the reality that there is still more than I can do for my Savior. Your blog melted my heart so much for God and pushed me to desire Jesus more. Your powerful notes anointed by the Lord through the Holy Spirit that you have shared will greatly help me for the expansion and growth of my ministry as well as my relationship with my God. I pray that God will continue to use you to inspire, motivate and uplift dying souls. I pray and I believe some day in the future I will be given a chance to encounter a (real encounter) with a servant of Jesus like you. Be richly blessed by God Mr. Milton and your family as well.”

* Please Take Note: These sermon notes are not official New Creation Church (NCC) or Pastor Joseph Prince sermon notes. These sermon notes are not affiliated with NCC or Pastor Prince.
I highly recommend purchasing Pastor Prince’s sermons on his mobile app “Joseph Prince” on Apple App Store or Google Play Store even after you read these notes as I may have missed out something he shared and the overall experience is definitely different when you listen to him preaching directly!
Use these notes as a revision guide instead of solely depending on them!
These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I’m just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church’s Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince’s anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.
I feel blessed to be able to attend Pastor Joseph Prince’s services in person, and would like to help everyone who isn’t able to attend in person, to get hold of the messages as soon as it is preached!
Many blessings and thanks to Terence Koh, Shanice Ng and Jeremie Tay for supporting this blog as our Superabundant Grace tier patrons!
