Here’s why I’m NO on Prop six:
- Prop six would take an current energy away from the legislature to do what they do… impose charges and levy taxes to spend for stuff. In this case, every single time the legislature would want to impose a new charge or tax on autos voters would have to approve it. Hogwash, that is why we elect a legislature.
- Usually speaking, I’m in favor of levying taxes that match behavior. California requirements a mechanism to strengthen infrastructure for autos, tax gas and raise registration charges. Tends to make sense to me.
- Paying much more gas tax encourages drivers to obtain much more fuel effective autos.
