This week we are excited to brew up another delicious tea review for everyone by Plum Deluxe Tea. We want to personally thank Plum Deluxe for reaching out to us and sending us samples of their tea to review for our readers. All of our opinions are our own.
About Plum Deluxe
A message from Andy Hayes, our Founder and Creator…
My goal with Plum Deluxe is to create a place on the Internet you can always look forward to visiting, whether that’s exploring our blog and articles, joining our tea of the month club community, or trying out some of our other special products, like coloring books and meditations.
The core of Plum Deluxe is our weekly email newsletter, The Blend. I’ve been writing that newsletter, filled with positive messages and creative ways for living a good life, every Sunday morning for over 8 years now.
We’re a little different than your typical lifestyle blog, and we’re very different than your typical online tea company. We’re a community – and one of my not-so-subtle goals is to share the story and lessons I learned from my mother, Pam.
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 59. The subsequent 5 years of her life while she battled the disease were some of the best years of her life. She took the opportunity for self-care days and spa treatments, to keep her spirits up. She went out to dinner parties with friends to celebrate each day, and went to the gym regularly and became very fit. She laughed more. She traveled more – visiting her favorite city, Paris, and finally visiting the town her family was from in Germany.
My mom taught me that no matter your circumstances, you can choose to create moments that matter, every day. And some of the most enjoyable moments are the small things – time to sleep in, relaxing in a reading nook, going on a neighborhood walk, or catching up with an old friend over a cup of tea.
We call this Making Moments that Matter, and Plum Deluxe is here to help you decide what kinds of moments are important to you – in order for you to live a life you love. We have a free worksheet to help you start to understand what moments matter to you.

Let’s Make Some Tea!
For this tasting, we are using a KRUPS Gooseneck Electric Kettle. Each bag of tea includes steeping instructions on the label, this made brewing very simple and helpful. To begin, we heated up the Gooseneck to boil (212ºF). While the water was heating, we measured out the proper amount of tea leaves according to the instructions, since the teacup only held 5.0 fluid ounces we only used half the desired amount of tea. We used a tea infuser for this tasting. Once we placed the tea leaves in the infuser we placed it inside the teacup an put it on the scale. After taring the scale we measured (4) fluid ounces for each tasting. Next, we allowed the tea to steep in the cup for the suggested time.
℘ Tea #1 – Porch Sippin’ Pecan Black Tea
Before we get into this first tea from Plum Deluxe Tea, we wanted to note that the tea we received was some of the best tea we’ve ever tasted. Plum Deluxe surely isn’t kidding about the putting “Deluxe” in their name. With a name like “Porch Sippin’ Peach,” we just had to try it first. We’ve had a few tastes of warm Spring weather this year, and we can’t wait to sit on our back porch soon. This tea was exceptionally smooth and nutty black tea. The sweet and cinnamon spice aroma is as inviting as a good neighbor visiting on a cool evening.
℘ Tea #2 – Chocolate Hazelnut Dessert Tea
The second tea that we received from Plum Deluxe was just as exceptional as the first. It was their “Chocolate Hazelnut Dessert Tea” and it was as unique as it was delicious. Everything about this tea screamed hazelnut for you hazelnut lovers! It was quite savory as the first sip immediately invited the next and so on. The tea was relatively mild and it had a bit of a tangy aftertaste. It really reminded us of Fall around Halloween on a cold day eating chocolate candy.
℘ Tea #3 – Vanilla Sugar Cookie Dessert
The third variety of tea from Plum Deluxe followed suit from the first two in its phenomenal quality and flavor. The tea was quite light bodied and had a natural sweetness. (We honestly didn’t even consider adding sugar or cream to any of these teas there was that much flavor in each cup.) The flavor profile of this tea brought us back to Christmas as it reminded us of a Snickerdoodle straight out of the oven. It was awesome!
℘ Bonus Teas!
- Toasted Nut Brulee Oolong – We also received some bonus tea packets that we weren’t expecting. They were samples of 2 other varieties that Plum Deluxe offers. The first sample was the “Toasted Nut Brulee Oolong Tea”. This vibrant tea abounded in flavor. There was a fusion of flavors that put us in the mind of maple pancakes and almond cookies combined. This was quite a complex tea and no one single flavor or quality dominated everything else.
- Kitchen Table Blend Black Tea – The second of the sample packets was Plum Deluxe’s “Kitchen Table Blend Black Tea”. After we brewed the tea, the aroma was striking. There was such a warm, calming citrus fragrance filling our kitchen. To be completely honest, this was one of the best tea’s containing jasmine we’ve ever enjoyed. We came to realize that after tasting it, the grapefruit in it was the “secret weapon”. It tied all of the other flavors together and gave it a tangy zip that made you want more of its smooth goodness.
